Gannon SBDC to Present Seminars on Facebook Marketing

Facebook is one of the most powerful marketing tools available to small businesses. Gannon SBDC will offer two seminars on using Facebook to market small businesses, Tuesday, August 7 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and Thursday, August 16 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Gannon University’s Gannon University’s Palumbo Academic Center, Room 2023, 100 W 8th St., Erie, Pennsylvania 16501.

The seminars will be presented by SBDC consultant Shane Foster, who owned and managed a marketing firm and will share his knowledge of what makes an effective business Facebook page.

In the first seminar, Create an Effective Facebook Account for Your Small Business, Foster will walk participants through the step-by-step process of creating a Facebook page for a small business.

Attendees must have a personal Facebook page created prior to the workshop and will need to bring electronic files of:

•           A logo (.jpg, .gif or .png format)

•           Narrative about the business (brief)

•           Photos relevant to the business

In the second seminar, Effective Facebook Marketing Strategies for Your Small Business, Foster will outline the basics of attracting and engaging followers so they will become valuable customers and review methods by which Facebook can reach the people who matter most to businesses.

In both seminars, he will share Facebook strategies used by the 50+ million small businesses to effectively to reach their audiences.

Participants will learn:

  • How to maintain an effective presence on Facebook
  • How to efficiently use the features of Facebook for small businesses
  • How to make your Facebook Page easier to find by more people
  • Strategies for mixing social networking into business marketing
